EFB Hardware Platform
 
The EFB platform is an avionics grade Class 2 Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Electronic Flight Bag Tablet PC that runs Microsoft Windows XP to provide all the capabilities of current Windows-based applications,  The EFB consists of two (2) LRUs; an Electronic Display Unit (EDU) (shown here), and a small external Expansion Module Unit (EMU), that provides a conditioned aircraft power supply for the EDU, as well as peripheral I/O.

The Tablet PC runs Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and features the capabilities of current Windows-based applications, as well as digital handwriting and speech recognition, which allow you to use the PC even more easily.
